About me

Hi there! I’m Camille, a 33-year-old French woman currently on a sabbatical.

Growing up in a small town in northern France, I always dreamed of traveling the world, experiencing different cultures, and living abroad. I remember spending my afternoons on my geography books, and learning the capitals of the world by heart. Also like any kid, pretending to speak a language that does not exist.

That dream has come true in ways I never imagined! This passion has shaped my life and continues to inspire everything I do.
I’ve spent the past 11 years living in 5 different countries, visiting 36 nations across 4 continents, taking 3 sabbaticals, creating unforgettable memories along the way.

Traveling around allowed me to speak 6 languages: my mother tongue French, I speak fluently English, Italian and Spanish. I have basics and conversational level in Dutch and Portuguese.

My twenties were filled with incredible experiences. Now, in my thirties, I’m ready to embrace even more meaningful adventures!

Where I’ve Lived

I’ve called Montpellier, Rome, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Lisboa home. Each place has taught me invaluable lessons and introduced me to amazing people. Taking the leap to move to Italy at 20 was one of the best decisions I ever made, and since then, I haven’t looked back.

Sabbatical

  • First Sabbatical: A 4-month backpacking journey across Asia, filled with unforgettable experiences.
  • Second Sabbatical: Walking the Camino de Santiago, a transformative 1-month hiking.
  • Third Sabbatical: I have volunteered in a hostel for 2 months in Lisbon and there are many more adventures to come!

Life, as I see it

  • Live life with as few regrets as possible. Time is limited, so I aim to enjoy it and live authentically.
  • Embrace challenges and step out of my comfort zone, even when it scares me.
  • Life isn’t just about work; it’s about experiences. That’s why I take breaks, go on adventures, and dare to live differently.

What I’m Passionate About?

When I’m not working or traveling, you can find me enjoying some of my favorite activities:

  • Meditation: I have been practicing for the past nine years, and it has become a significant part of my life. For the last four years, I’ve followed the Miracle Morning routine, which includes meditation, affirmations, visualization, journaling, reading, and exercise.
  • Volunteering: Volunteering plays an important role in my life—it gives me a sense of purpose and connection.
  • Hiking: Exploring nature and challenging myself physically and mentally is deeply rewarding.
  • Parties/Festivals: Celebrating life with good music and great people is one of my favorite things.
  • Cooking: Cooking is my love language and a way to relax. Preparing meals for others—or treating myself—always brings me joy.
  • Reading: I love psychological and self-development books; I can’t get enough of them!

Studies and WORK in travel

I studied foreign languages for five years with the goal of becoming a translator or interpreter. However, after internships in leisure and tourism, I discovered my true passion: Travel. I love helping people to organize their trip or events to create memorable journeys and moments.

For the past decade, I’ve worked in the travel industry as a travel agent and as a People and Office Specialist. I’ve learned so much and grown immensely through my different work experiences. I can’t see myself doing anything else.

In the future, I dream of having my own travel agency and working as a tour leader. I’d also love to own a hostel one day. Let’s see what the future holds!
